Top 5, First Letter, Music Meme, in the key of W
Posted on in Memes, Music.- Reply to this post and I’ll assign you a letter.
- List (and upload, if you feel like it) five songs that start with that letter.
- Post them to your journal with these instructions.
ggreig gave me the letter “W”, well he gave me “Z” first but with only eight Z-tracks in my iTunes that would have been somewhat limited so we mutually agreed to go with the second choice.
- Weekend Without Makeup – The Long Blondes
- What Do I Get? – Buzzcocks
- We Almost Got It Together – Tanita Tikaram
- We’re Going To Be Friends – The White Stripes
- When I Grow Up – Garbage
Argh! That was hard. I had a long list of about 25 and a short list of ten but getting it down to five took all evening.
Casting suggestion
Posted on in Films, The World. The home page of BBC News is currently reporting on BP CEO Tony Hayward getting a telling off from the US Congress. And they are illustrating it with this picture:

If Michael Sheen is looking for his next real life role then he need look no further, the similarity is much greater than with Brian Clough, David Frost or even Tony Blair.

Not quite the normal meaning of free verse
Posted on in My Life.Wednesday’s NaBloPoMo question,
What’s your favourite poem? (And if you don’t have one, why?)
There was a young hooker from Kew
Who filled her vagina with glue
She said with a grin
“If they pay to get in
They can pay to get out of it too!”
And Thursday’s,
Define “freedom.”
Mostly, the freedom to post tasteless limericks.
When I grow up…
Posted on in My Life. The folks over at NaBloPoMo have declared that June’s theme is Now and have also implemented a prompt of the day, similar to LiveJournal’s Writer’s Block feature. Seeing as I haven’t been posting much of late I thought I’d give it a try.
When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An astronaut.
In the late ’70s and early ’80s we were at the tail end of the space race era – the moon landings were still recent (and very few people imagined that, 30 years later, we wouldn’t have gone back), the shuttle was brand new and shiny, oh, and Star Wars was in the cinema.
I’m not an astronaut. Yet.
