Very True Things
“He talks to himself sometimes because he’s the only one who understands what he’s saying.”

Archive for March, 2007

Argh, Croydon was too full of children and chavs and chav children today. I bought a cheap pair of jeans, a cheap t-shirt, a Hellblazer spin-off graphic novel and one of the About Time volumes.

[info]pink_weasel went into a yarn department and walked out empty handed.

Then round to the in-laws for silliness and thai food. Feeling well stuffed right now.

Oh, and let’s not talk about the rugby, okay?

…Dinosaurs

As tagged by [info]snapesbabe. Post a comment with “top ten” or “top five” and I’ll give you a subject to base your list around.

  1. Stegosaurus

Maybe because we start our names with the same three letters but I’ve always liked Steggy. One of the classic dinos that all the kids know, and one of the most fantastically strange looking creatures to ever walk on land.

  2. Allosaurus

A big mean predator, not as unbalanced to look at as T.rex but still big enough and toothy enough to give you nightmares.

  3. Brachiosaurus

Of Lofty as we call him round our way. Not only is it one of the biggest dinos but it’s also unusual in having longer legs at the front than at the back (hence the name).

  4. Anklyosaurus

Walking tank. My default user icon.

  5. Deinonychus

    Velociraptor : Deinonychus = Hobbit : Human

Very True Mood: (tired) tired

Very sad to have the news that Chris Lightfoot has died pop up in an RSS feed this morning. Like many others I never met Chris but always enjoyed reading his blog for his analysis and wit.

About half the moon is in shadow now. South London isn’t the best place for sky watching, especially with the moon right over the floodlights of the bus garage, (so no chance of photos from here) but at least the sky is clear so I’m getting the best view I can.

[Update 22:47] - Nearly totally in shadow now, I can see the the reddish hue on the shadowed parts quite clearly. I tried to take some pictures anyway but the camera just whirred as if to say “there’s nothing there mate” and refused to do anything.

Dear Lawrence Miles,

I’ve just read your latest blog post and eagerly await your Faction Paradox/Muppets crossover novel.

Very True Mood: (contemplative) contemplative

I’ve just watched half an episode of Hotel Babylon and I can feel my brains leaking out my ears.

Before that The Bill featured a return visit from Jim Carver. This came as a surprise to June. Why? Hasn’t she read the TV guides all week? Whilst he’s been away he seems to have picked up the Eastenders style of acting (you know it when you see it).

Not on tonight, but I realised on Saturday that the exterior of the Home Office in Primeval is actually the Ernst & Young building next door to VL’s office.
