Has anyone else just had a twilight zone moment and thought they saw an episode of QI where Alan Davies not only got positive points but actually won?

Yeah, I saw it too. But he’s cheating these days - he doesn’t just shout out the first thing that comes into his head any more.
And John Sessions is just too clever (in an arty kind of way). It shouldn’t be allowed.
My theory is he’s been playing a cunning strategy. Start out play really silly for the letters A, B and C. All the other players start to think he’ll walk into the traps before they do with the -10 point penalties. They forget they can be caught out too. He sits back for D through Z while they walk into the traps he wins lots of shows come the letter Z he’s the overall winner by a mile and gets to walk away with the trophy.
Or the script writers may have realised it was getting a bit old hat to have him lose all the time.
