The truth about House (spoilers, sort of)

In both of the last two episode he went to the toilet. He hung or leant his cane beside the loo, did what he needed to do, then picked up his cane and went over to wash his hands.

No wonder he’s say wary about seeing patients in person. At some subconscious level he knows that his cane is germ ridden, disease carrying, wooden angel of death. Wilson was clearly trying to save everyone when he sawed through it.
