Forgive me readers, it has been a month since my last confession and I have sinned. I have been to those temples to mammon that are called eBay and Orcs Nest, and I have purchased small pieces of plastic fashioned into the likeness of Han Solo and other characters from Star Wars.
I picked up several Rebel Storm rares from eBay and then bought a Revenge of the Sith booster and a Universe booster from Orcs Nest. All for £72.71.
Running total is now £644.14
The universe booster (the first I’d bought) contained the very rare Admiral Ackbar (so my luck of picking up Very Rares rather than Rares continues) and the huge X-1 Viper Droid. It’s a shame that the random nature of these sets means that only Star Wars fans will really buy into them as the X-1 is a decent sized chunk of plastic and has a nice retro feel to it (plus a brown and black paint scheme) that means it would lend itself well to steampunk, pulp, alt-WW2 or VSF games.
Lettice liked it as well. “Barbie’s new pet”. Oddly enough googling for “mad scientist barbie” brings up only three hits and no pictures. Come on doll surgeons and/or photoshop gurus…
