  1. Bang head against computer until WordPress starts displaying categories hierarchically Given up for now - 24/02/2005

  6. Split theme into header, footer, etc. files Done - 24/02/2005
  7. Change HTTP header output to aid caching Done partially, need to look at getting content-length working and need to revist max-age and expires - 24/02/2005

Upgrading to WordPress 1.5.

Everything seems to be running okay, just need to restore my styles.

pink_weasel is out having fun this Saturday so I have a dilemma concerning how to spend my time.

I could do some work. No, really. The interview on Wednesday went well so it’s not impossible that I might be offered the job, in which case spending a bit of time getting ahead with some of my current freelance projects would give me more flexibility over start dates, etc.

I could go shopping - the presents I ordered for her birthday have arrived but I feel the need to find something else as well.

I could upgrade this blog. Thanks to PooterGeek I learn that WordPress 1.5 has been released.

Want to bet that I end up doing bugger all instead?

One Rebel Storm booster and one Copplestone Castings Yak Train.

Running total is now £283.80

I’ve bought nine Rebel Storm boosters in total (hangs head in shame) and in those I’ve got three Rare miniatures and six Very Rare miniatures. I’m not sure what the odds of getting a Very Rare should be but I’m certain that they shouldn’t be double the odds of getting a Rare one. If they are then the prices on eBay are seriously out of whack.

So I’m offering my services to the general public - I’ll pick a random pack off the rack for you in return for a small fee. Go on you know you want me to.

Lord Vader struts his stuff
Darth Vader’s dance workout video is available now in all good stores

Anyway, the Very Rares I’ve received have been a fairly useless bunch:

  • Princess Leia, Captive ×3
  • Darth Vader, Ballet Dancer Sith Lord
  • Jabba the Hutt
  • Wampa

See? No Luke; no Obi-Wan, no speeder bikes; no Emperor; no Dewback; no Boba Fett.

… but this year is special. This year is the only (touch wood, cross fingers, and so on) year in which I get to send St Valentine’s Day love to my fiancée.

Oh, I’m a happy bunny.

Almost happy enough to ignore the self-destructing washing machine, glass smashing incident that dragged me from my nice warm bed this morning.

And I’ve got another job interview on Wednesday. If I can get this job then I may have the money to escape from this flat and find somewhere nicer. Please.

Hats off to both Copplestone Castings and Ral Partha Europe - ordered the miniatures on Wednesday, arrived Friday. Also in the post this morning was the Wargames Illustrated subscribers’ special King John, he’s a bit chunky and there’s some nasty flash on the horse, but hey free miniature.

The Frisky Penguins are nice. But after reading what the penguins at Bremerhaven Zoo have been up to I’m keeping a close eye on them. (via Class Worrier)

Here are some more dinosaur miniatures, two that are waiting to be painted and one that’s finished. The hunter figure in each is from the Foundry 28mm Darkest Africa range.

From left to right we have Baryonyx (DZ Miniatures), Iguanodon (DZ Miniatures) and Tyrannosaurus imperator (HLBSCo). Only the last of these is currently available from the manufacturer.

That clever Mr Copplestone has worked out how to support his family - get that clever Mr Kemp to sculpt some more dinosaur miniatures and offer them for sell over the interweb thingy. And once you’ve been sucked in by dinosaurs how can you resist a pack of miniatures called “Frisky Penguins” (now that’s the name for a blog)?

Well, we can’t let Mr Copplestone have all our money can we? So let’s buy some more dinosaurs from Ral Partha.

Running total is now £264.80

But look at these photos showing the new Copplestone velociraptors and the Tamiya plastic 1/35 velociraptors, coincidence?
